How to find directories
Searching for the right directories if often a taxing task. Especially given that many directories are either much to expensive or are simply too hard to locate.
However, using Google and a tool called http://www.soloseo.com/tools/linkSearch.html , it easy to locate directories which will contain the right category for your site
Using Soloseo
Simply type in the relevant keyword that you are looking for in directories. So for instance, ‘motorcycle insurance’, and soloseo will spit out a bunch of links to Google, Yahoo and MSN.

What is special about these outcomes?
They are optimised search results that specifically target directories and typical phrase matches that would be visible in them, such as “add url”.
Finding directories through Google
The other way to find suitable linking directories is by using Google’s advanced search.
Upon entering Google, click on advanced search on the right hand side.
Let us say that the query here is ‘campervan hire’.

In the field market “all of these words”, type your search query. This is the term that you would like to find in relevant directories.
In the “one or more of these words” field, type “submit” or “submit url” or “add url” or “add site”. Try some variations. This field allows you to specify specific text on the web page.
The “any of these unwanted words” section is the section where you specify what terms you do not want to see on the website. In the given example, I have provided “register and login” as the terms I would not like to see. This is because registration is often excessively time consuming.
Lastly, the “search within a site or domain” field leaves space for you to fill out what domain you would like your search results to be displayed in. For example, if you would like to submit to the rare .edu or .gov domains or directories, feel free to try your luck.
The best option is to try a combination of all of these techniques.
